Known as Proof of Attendance Protocol, are unique NFT (non-fungible token) badges given out to attendees of virtual and real-world events [1]. They serve as digital versions of event mementos such as ticket stubs or badges [2]. POAPs are created and distributed on the xDai sidechain and can be used to keep a record of experiences [1]. They have been given out at over 100 Ethereum community events and are also used by online crypto communities like SushiSwap and ShapeShift [1]. The number of POAPs in a user's wallet can be used to measure engagement and time spent in a community [1]. POAP collections can also function as decentralized identities, unlocking new possibilities for their use [1].
The NFT ticketing system has the potential to enhance various aspects of your community. Firstly, it serves as an effective gating mechanism to control access to your physical or virtual events. For instance, there was an airdrop or claims process prior to the event, only those who possess the relevant NFT holder can attend. This not only adds value to the community but also fosters a sense of community among the NFT holders.
Additionally, since this data is accessible on the blockchain, anyone has the ability to create a variety of applications that can expand the use cases related to the ownership of these POAP NFT Tickets. For example, owners of POAPs specific attributes can gain VIP privileges, such as special access to sponsors' booths or exclusive levels within the virtual event.

As OGs, we are aware that there were many attempts to launch cryptocurrency shops. However, most of them were uninteresting, with only the Layer1 logo on display. In our case, we have taken advantage of the opportunity to create unique branding for our events and showcase distinctive designs at each conference. Moreover, we have started collaborating with artists and communities. Our merchandise aims to showcase premium designs from artists in our marketplace and support the community. Early adopters who partner with us will benefit from being featured in our shop.
Barely two months in since our February 2023 launch and BOOM - we hit the century mark! That's how we define success.
In partnership with , we will be beta testing NFT ticketing system based on holding various collections for particular addresses and allowing them to enter the space and book tables & meeting rooms.

Polkadot and Kusama Asset Hub (former Statemint and Statemine) are system parachains on Polkadot and Kusama for creating and sending fungible and non-fungible (NFTs) tokens.
Native tokens of AssetHub are DOT and KSM. To be able to do any transaction on AssetHub, you need to teleport your assets. If you're interested in teleporting your DOT or KSM to Asset Hub, you can find detailed instructions here:
Deposit fees are a bit different. After creating a collection and adding NFTs to it, you will pay a specific amount of deposit fees. Any collection/nft added to the Asset Hub is saved in the blockchain storage. This storage is replicated, and every change is tracked (by transactions). To prevent spam, parity proposed a returnable deposit.
Your deposited fees will be unlocked when you burn NFT/collection. Only the owner of the NFT can do that, so if someone buys your NFTs, you cannot burn them. Also, you cannot burn the collection if there are still NFTs in it.

A new era for KodaDot just started, as we are now supporting generative art. The First step was done, and we will continue with our efforts to make the experience even better for artists.
Generative art is a creative process where artists use computer programs or algorithms to produce artwork. The artist first defines rules and parameters that guide the computer in generating the art. These rules can include mathematical equations, randomness, or even data from the environment.
The beauty of this art lies in its ability to produce unexpected and evolving creations, as the computer can generate countless variations based on the initial instructions. It's a blend of human creativity and machine execution, offering new possibilities for artistic expression.
We are more than happy to support artists. We can offer a package of benefits that will help promote your art, get you a new audience, and expose your art to more collectors. We organized several successful exhibitions around the world, and we continue with our efforts.
The same hash produces the same output
Different screen resolution produces the same art
With different hashes, art has enough entropy - there are enough variations
Art should listen to the changes in screen resolutions
P5js is supported very well.
WebGL is supported but needs to be properly tested in our code-checker).
Your code works on low-performance machines and doesn't require heavy computing.
Load fast - if it's working slowly, it breaks joy from art - load time should be under 3 seconds.
Animated/Loop NFTs are supported.
The payload for clients should not be big.
Art must utilize viewport size (smaller value from width and height).
Just to let you know, 600x600 px versions of your art pieces will be used for the "screenshot" for the preview.
The collection should have enough entropy to avoid collisions of the same pictures in bigger-sized editions.
For testing, provide Zip files (they can be tested in the code-checker too)
Art: 1x1: Square shape
Art code should not be minified - written as a "string" of code.
The file should be in HTML/JS/CSS, and it needs to accept a URL parameter called hash. Each hash should be able to change your art.
In this case, our hash is: 0x175adf5fc058830a6319b8238ecc911db6e1b8dd40965629b5f0c5bee655598c
Example 2:
The first generative art collection we minted on KodaDot used classical html/css/js + p5.js" basically the simple template. The collection is here.
We are working on the direct support of fxhash, but for now, there are some limitations:
The URL param is hash and not fxhash
The hash format is a hash from a user-generated address - (Polkadot addresses have 15 000 combinations per address)
We can support both ss58 format (same as fxhash) or the hex format
ss58 examples:
hGCkbgsGatN2yG8E6DX844yNHbamg2pCjWyFkn3MJxWdL4HE
EouXhZhDCHJqkEfr15DnkrgVrxwTkuRPBfid1oTioJhQpE1
Hex format examples: hex hashes have a length of 66 characters (0x + 64 letters)
0x75f431014e6e0e1ca79360f2b21b855c20d3026a82a9d63af2ebd1f671359c7a
0x34a30d72b558863e4b33217a62b1f8aa26535b341b93ba235f42929730c95b9b
Currently, we have two different types of hash generation on two different networks:
Polkadot hash generation is random: A user will receive random variation from the code.
On Base we use hash(serialNumber)

Template
Code Checker
Here is a template where you can find all the information about the code you need. Please read on before you start coding: https://github.com/vikiival/kodahash.
Some things we require to be included in the code like:
createCanvas();
getURLParams
postMessageKoda
How to include them is written in the template mentioned above. Please read it carefully.
Once your art code is ready and adjusted for KodaDot's needs, you can test the code in our new Code Checker. Please open the page below in the new tab to learn how to use it.
Before you submit the art, follow these steps:
Please run the art via the code-checker mentioned above and report the status together with the code. The code needs to pass! (Take a screenshot for us)
Submit:
Zip file with your code
Name for collection (the name should be short - only one word: it looks much better on the UI)
Description
Collection image - select the one you like the most
Artistic name you want to be referred to in the collection
Your DOT and Base address (tips for Polkadot wallets)
Create your profile on Koda (depending on where your drop is - Base/Polkadot - create your profile on the selected network)
We prepared a short list of tips you should be able to follow to make your drop even more successful. Take your time and read it.

Our curated drop pages Your minting drop page can look like this:
Buyers can generate new NFTs under the picture. We set a limit on the total available items. Minting can be free or for tokens. We can also add time, minting phases, and allowlists - everything is possible. We have been experimenting with adding also conditions such as people needing to have funds in wallets, people needing to be owners of another drop.. etc.
For now, if you are interested, write us on Telegram. Also, you can connect with our Head of Artist Relations, Luuu.
We are looking for thrilling art and reserve the right to reject art anywhere in the procedure.
Learn about the elements that influence NFT value. From historical significance and rarity to cultural relevance and ownership, understand what makes an NFT valuable in the dynamic digital realm.
In the ever-evolving world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), understanding what influences their value is crucial for both creators and collectors. Here's a breakdown of some primary elements that drive the value of NFTs:
Commemorative: NFTs often commemorate a particular event, person, or moment in time. This intrinsic value can significantly influence its worth.
Virtue Signalling: NFTs can be used as a means of expressing support or alignment with a cause or group, adding to their value based on the benefactor's reputability or significance.
Historical Appreciation: The value of an NFT may increase over time depending on the historical significance of its content.
Speculation Premium: The speculative nature of NFTs can play a considerable role in their value. Potential future value can drive up the current price.
Collectibles: Some NFTs become valuable because they are part of a collection. The importance of that collection or the rarity of the NFT within it can drive up its value.
Rarity: Often, the rarer an NFT is, the more valuable it is. Rarity can come from the unique properties of the NFT, or the limited number issued.
Ownership: If an NFT was previously owned by a famous individual or influential person, its value might increase due to this association.
Subcultures: NFTs related to specific subcultures or niches often gain value based on their significance within those groups.
Art from X: The value of an NFT can significantly increase if it is found out later that it was created by a famous or culturally significant artist.
Intrinsic vs. Extrinsic Value Drivers: The value of an NFT can also be driven by intrinsic factors like the complexity of its creation process or the popularity of its creator. Extrinsic factors that affect an NFT's value might include trends in the NFT market, laws, and regulations.
Understanding these value drivers can help creators and collectors make more informed decisions when minting or purchasing NFTs.

Proper preparation for the drop can make a huge difference. You are building your audience and reputation and getting more attention focused on you. Please read this page carefully!
Finishing your code is just the start. But we can say the most challenging part is behind you. We must still focus on selling the art and getting it out there. First of all, before you start with marketing efforts, make sure that your code is working correctly.
On KodaDot, we prioritize art that is fast, smooth, and good-looking. As mentioned on the previous pages, your art needs to fill some conditions. Once your art is ready, take your time and play with the code-checker, try variations, and check if anything is lagging and the art looks like it was supposed to look. Use our code-checker to do all these steps:
Remember to use the export function to generate a mock collection to assess whether the project has enough variety!
Generating 20 NFTs at once can help you see more examples of your art. The process is quick and easy, and it allows you to see if the art looks good.
It's important to know if people will like your art. Getting feedback from your fellow artists, community, or people around you can help you assemble a project that will be liked. Don't hesitate to ask about opinions on your social media; feedback is always valued!
Always take your time; if you are unsure your collection is ready, decide on new deadlines. Your art should always reflect your best work. Sometimes, stepping back and returning the next day will do the magic.
Your collection should have proper naming and story. With naming, we prefer short collection names (only one word), as they look better on our UI. With a story, you can be creative. Leave your fantasy to tell it. You spend quite some time preparing it, and only you can tell us all about it. You can share this story in the description of your NFTs or on your social media.
Collectors like to learn about art, so let's give them something. We recommend you think about the story as soon as you start working on your idea. Once you start working on your story, getting it out there will help you build stronger connections with your followers.
The description for your art should not be too short. You can write about yourself as an artist, the process, what you wanted to capture with the art, what you want to say to your collectors, and many more.
Once you start a new project, your collectors and audience are the most important people you should focus on. It's very important to keep them updated, tease them, and prepare for the drop.
Share your art on your socials:
Share WIPs regularly. This will help you connect with your collectors, as they will be able to see the progress of the art, and regular posts will help you grow.
Ask for feedback, as it may help you create a project that your collectors are longing for.
Build your engagement around competitions/games - small competitions where people can win free NFT can make a difference.
Share your posts on other platforms - to get more engagement.
Being active on social media shows that you are dedicated to your project.
Farcaster is an innovative, open-source, decentralized social network. We highly recommend you build your profile on this platform and grow your audience here. A lot of artists, especially generative ones, are now intensely focused on this platform.
Learn about Farcaster - learn about how it works or how to use $degen to build your reputation.
Follow /koda channel on Farcaster and post your regular updates here
Post your art to other generative channels such as /gen-art or /le-random /geometric to grow your followers
Post regularly, engage with other artists, and be active
There are many ways to build your project. Be creative and use all your powers to promote it.
Write an article about your project, tell a story about it
Join various communities that may be interested in your art
Try other forms of content like videos, gifs, and collages of your art - visually appealing content always wins.
Create unique content. Every artist is different, and there can be something you are good at.
Get your art out there - participate in exhibitions and competitions to add value to your art. Follow KodaDot on other channels so you don't miss open calls to participate in our exhibitions.
Proper planning and communication are the keys. Plan your announcements ahead of time to better connect with your audience.
Share WIPs
Share the drop date/time ahead so people can prepare to collect it
Share your art even after the drop
Make engaging content like competitions
Try other channels. Once you post your post, please share the link in other channels, such as various Discord and Telegram groups, or directly share it with people who may find it interesting.
Be active - post regularly, reply to comments, and engage with other artists.
Building a strong social profile is the most important thing as a digital artist, and your profile is the first thing everyone will see once they deep-dive into your art!
Once your art is ready and your drop date is approaching, help your collectors mint the art by explaining the process to them.
Inform them about these facts:
Where will the art be minted
What currency will they be using
What wallet can they use
How and where to mint
Is there something they need to know?
Keep in mind that you should share these details once you are 100% sure about them. Announcing the date or time and then changing it may be confusing for your audience.
The KodaDot team can provide you with all these details, so don't hesitate to ask. You collectors should feel comfortable collecting your art. Not everyone has the experience, and people may struggle.
If you follow these steps, your art will get all the attention it deserves.
Good luck!

Adding utilities to your NFTs can be life-changing. This needs much more planning and time for you to create something original. Sometimes NFTs are only about art, but that can change by creating a project around it. There are many examples of successful NFTs projects wrapped around art.
Digital art ownership: NFTs can be used to establish digital ownership of the artwork and other digital assets, allowing creators to monetize their work.

Charitable donations: NFTs can be used to raise funds for charitable causes, with proceeds going to the charity or cause of choice.
Gaming and sports achievements: NFTs can be used to represent achievements in gaming and sports, such as high scores or winning games, which can be verified and displayed by the owner.
These were a few common examples of Utilities your NFT can have. Most of them need much more time for planning. Use your imagination and create something unique.
KodaDot allows creators to create allowlist events or whitelist users for early access to their NFT sale or minting. Allowlisting is a powerful tool to reward loyal supporters and incentivize interest in your collection.
KodaDot supports airdropping as a way to deploy tokens to a large number of holders simultaneously. Airdrops can amplify your project's reach and encourage new users to explore your collection.
Mass minting will soon be available on KodaDot, enabling creators to mint multiple tokens at once, simplifying the minting process, and gaining an opportunity to create limited editions of their collection.
Planned for future implementation, scheduled mints will permit creators to launch their NFTs at specific dates and times, enabling anticipation and focused marketing campaigns around the minting event.
Utilize other tools and strategies to help your NFT collection stand out, such as:

If you followed the Kodahash template, and you finished with your art, its time to test it. Your art should include everything that is needed to be deployed on KodaDot. To be sure that you did not miss anything, we created our KodaDot Code Checker to help you find any missing details in the code.
Open https://koda.art/code-checker and prepare your zip file to be uploaded. once you upload it, wait a few moments. Your code validation will appear on the screen.
CanvasSize: if its dynamic, then its ok
Name of the collection: doublecheck if the collection name is right
Local p5js: testing if the p5js code is in the folder or its using it from the internet
There are other categories we are evaluating. Read below to understand what each category means and what to change in your code in case you are not fulfilling it.
An issue in this category means that the HTML should have a title tag, and the title should be different from kodaHash. Like this:
Once the rendering of art is done, a message needs to be sent signaling the end of the render. This message is necessary for art to work properly on KodaDot. More details can be found in the Kodahash template. This message should look like this:
Kodahash Render Called Once should be called only once, make sure that its not calling more than that.
This check ensures that your artwork doesn't rely on external resources that might not be available when the NFT is rendered. All necessary files (such as images, scripts, or styles) should be included in your project folder. For example, instead of linking to an online p5.js library, you should include the p5.min.js file in your project. This ensures that your artwork will always render correctly, regardless of internet connectivity or the availability of external resources.
To pass this check: - Include all necessary JavaScript libraries in your project folder. - Use relative paths to reference local files instead of URLs to external resources. - Ensure all images, fonts, or other assets used in your artwork are included in the project folder.
Your artwork is expected to use hash url param. Like this:
This check verifies that a valid image is being sent to the Kodahash render process. The image should be in a supported format (typically PNG) and should accurately represent your artwork.
To pass this check: - Ensure your code correctly captures the canvas content. - Convert the canvas content to a valid data URL. - Include this data URL in the postMessageKoda function.
Example code:
This check ensures that your artwork renders consistently across different instances. When using the same hash input, your artwork should produce the same output every time.
To pass this check: - Use a deterministic random number generator seeded with the hash. - Avoid using JavaScript's built-in Math.random() function. - Ensure all variable aspects of your artwork are controlled by the hash-seeded random number generator.
Example implementation:
By implementing these features correctly, you can ensure your artwork passes these important checks in the KodaDot Code Checker, making it ready for deployment on the platform.
Failure means the art is not responsive to screen size changes. In order to fix need to use resizeCanvas like this:
The time between the start of render and message kodahash/render/completed is measured. As we mentioned in the documentation, art should be quick to improve the user experience. Loading time check could fail if:
Artwork is not rendered in the checker.
Takes too long to render, no clear way to fix that, the artist needs to find a way to cut down time.
Your art is animated or it is in infinite loop - which is acceptable
You may get a question mark if when the item cannot be determined: For example, if the art doesn't use kodahash render, loading time and art consistency cannot be determined.
Under the image, you can also find tests for Performance and Capture Service
Performance test: Time Per Variation. Select a number of outputs, and it will test the average time needed to create one variation.
Capture Service test is very important test (especially if you are using WebGL). It tests how the preview of the NFT will look like. It is also important if you have a loop or animated NFT to test this so you can see what the final previews of the NFTs will look like. If previews are not working, you need to adjust the code.
Under the picture, you should see an option to export art. You can select several art pieces you want to download (1x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x).
Use this option to export the maximum amount of NFTs - this will help you to see more variations at once, and you can assess if your art has enough variations. Keep in mind the size of your collection. The bigger the collection, the more variations it should have. So everyone can get their unique NFT!
If you followed the Kodahash template, your code should pass all tests. This is our first version of code checker, so there may be something you need help with. In case you are having any issues, questions, or suggestions on how to improve our Code Checker, please connect with the team on Telegarm or GitHub.
To make things a bit more exciting, we recently added a Party Kit to our Drop page. We don't want you to feel alone; it's droptime, so join us at this party! 🚀
When a new drop is launched, after you open it, you may see more cursors moving around the page. Those are fellow collectors who are exploring the page with you! Once you meet them, you know that you are not alone. We are having a party with collectors! 🥳
Fellow collectors and their activity 😎
Status: whether they are generating, minting, or just moving around
Their art: An NFT they are generating/minting,
Amounts in DOT: how big a spender are they, and how much they spend on the NFTs
Here, you can see all the components:
Don't worry; you can turn off our Drop Party feature if you prefer to buy your art alone. Open the sidebar, head to settings - interface, and turn off the party mode.
Once you have created your wallet, you need to add funds into it so you can freely create, buy, list or transfer NFTs.
On KodaDot you can buy NFTs with Kusama (KSM) or Polkadot (DOT). Depending on what chain your NFT is.
Sending funds from another crypto address: You may have some funds on an exchange or another wallet. In this case, use your Polkadot wallet to find your address.
The best way to find your address is just to use the wallet you downloaded, but you can also find it in your profile on KodaDo. You can copy the address directly. Be careful about what chain you are!
Add funds via on-ramp service: Adding funds directly on KodaDo through our provider. This process is easy and quick, so let's take a look.
Open your profile in the top right corner and click on the colorful circle. In the sidebar that will appear, you should be able to find the Add Funds button.
First, you have to agree with KodaDot's terms of use, and then you are able to select a provider. I personally prefer Ramp, but feel free to use other options, too.
Select your currency and the currency you want to buy (DOT or KSM) and choose the amount.
The minimum amount of funds you can add can vary depending on what currency you are buying or what provider you are using.
If you are buying:
KSM: Minimum amount is around 18 USD (or 16.50 EUR)
DOT: Minimum amount is around 8 USD (or 7 EUR)
Click on Proceed and fill in other details they are asking for: your email address. You will receive a confirmation code you will need to fill out.
Then you need to fill out your Polkadot/Kusama address (depending on what you are currently buying). Always check if you added the correct address.
Double check so you don't fill in your Kusama address instead of Polkadot one or the opposite.
You have more options to choose from. Select the one you are most comfortable with and continue.
Depending on the payment method, you may be asked to fill in details like your name or your address. They also may ask if the wallet you use is yours.
Fill in all the details and proceed to confirmation.
Now, you can jump back to and start shopping/creating.
Farcaster frames allow you to interact more interactively. You can now browse the art or mint it directly in the Farcaster app.
There are two kinds of frames available on KodaDot:
Collection Frame: Allows you to share existing collections minted on KodaDot; the process is very simple, and anyone can share any collection. The frame will allow you to browse the collection on Farcaster. It will not be possible to trade with NFTs; just browse.
Minting Frame: This allows you to mint your collection on Base via KodaDot. Minting frames are only available for curated artists. Mint will currently occur only via Farcaster.
You can share any collection on Farcaster in a frame that allows people to browse your collection directly in the app. To do it, open your collection on KodaDot, click the share button in the top right corner, and select Share as Farcaster Frame.
This is how your frame will look like. People will be able to browse minted NFTs in your collection on KodaDot.
The minting frame allows you to mint directly from the Frame. This frame will only work for artists who minted their art on Base via KodaDot (if you are not sure about your collection, then it was most likely not minted this way). Only selected artists have this option.
How do I create a post? The team will provide you with your unique link, which you can share in your regular post. The link always looks like this:
http://k-frame.kodadot.workers.dev/base/:address
Where :address
is a variable that we will provide to the artist - since we deploy the contract.
Use the provided link and share it on Farcaster. You only need to copy-paste it to cast; it will automatically create a frame for you. Here is an example:
Adding pictures or any extra files to the frame may hide the minting frame, and users will not be able to use it. Always check your post after posting it.
Minting works only with Coinbase Wallet on mobile.

Welcome to the KodaDot Userbase, your go-to source for FAQs and documentation that will help you better understand the platform.
KodaDot is a pioneering open-source NFT marketplace within the Polkadot ecosystem, operating on the Kusama network—a pre-production environment for Polkadot. They share the same multichain, heterogeneously-sharded architecture based on Parachain Consensus.
Kusama (ticker: KSM) is the coin used for interacting with KodaDot, the Kusama network, and its parachains.
Our vision centers on creating a platform where creators, developers, and community members collaborate and contribute to a majority-driven decision-making process.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, sustainable environment for contributors working toward our shared goal. To express our gratitude, we offer bounty rewards as recognition of their valuable input.
Our core principles include inclusivity, collaboration, constructive feedback, and trust. We encourage contributors to explore tasks beyond their comfort zones, promoting personal growth at a suitable pace. KodaDot warmly welcomes students seeking open-source experience, parents exploring NFTs, or developers transitioning to web3 to join our diverse community.
In line with the open-source philosophy, KodaDot's development system is intentionally unrestricted, inviting contributions from all community members. We eliminate the notion of "behind-the-scenes" activity, giving everyone an equal opportunity to share their ideas and collaborate with our developers.
KodaDot aspires to minimize its carbon footprint while actively supporting carbon-negative initiatives and promoting global afforestation efforts. Currently, our focus lies on operating through the low-carbon Kusama network and collaborating with Offsetra, a project that enables us to offset our average annual emissions.
KodaDot offers a range of features for creators and collectors. At its core, KodaDot provides a simple and user-friendly platform for buying and selling NFTs, with basic features such as buying, selling, transfers, and fixed-price listings.
But the platform also offers more advanced features for those looking to get the most out of their NFT investments. These include the ability to bundle NFTs together into collections and create custom royalty structures, the place offers, and much more.
The first thing you should do after visiting KodaDot web is to choose your preferred mode. Light or dark? I prefer light mode.
Click on your profile (circle next to the wallet), and at the bottom, choose a mode.
gig work is native labour model of Internet
We feel inspired by the Gitcoin model, where we realized that the only way to have aligned contributors is to give them rewards once things are delivered. As we didn't have a token while writing this, we've decided to go with the Kusama relay chain token $KSM, and we've managed to build payment rails for contributors ourselves.
This evolution was quite fuzzy, yet we haven't got a roadmap; we've seen an opportunity to make this something unique for the end users.
Our primary goal was to establish a positive culture without making any compromises, given our past unpleasant experiences. We were hesitant about engaging mercenaries, but we saw viable option to achieve a great cultural fit within the company. The dilemma that arose was how to promote the right open-source principles and customs among our team without incurring significant losses.
We've managed to process since the first bounty to the current date of writing over $450,000 in liquid bounties without any lockups, which contributors can get approximately the same value for contributors in USD on exchange.
We've managed to drive unique contributors' culture within KodaDot and built a few products. You can find more about them in Alpha Products, which will be gradually expanded when things are baked.
In terms of numbers, the current date of writing this is 6/2023, we've crossed 3000 pull-requests opened people from the Internet, and backlogged more than 5k GitHub issues related to bugs, features, improvements, new designs and various integrations.
Thanks to our model, delivery is powered across 40 repositories within KodaDot.
You can check this on KodaDot_Guild_Rewards address, which has already funded over $451k @ $200/KSM ~2258 $KSM to notable contributing members. Now we are moving with funding contributors from Kusama to Polkadot, where we wil be sending rewards in $DOT currently and gradually integrating $USDT within our Transfer App
Our approach ensures a significant influx of open-source enthusiasts looking to join the web development world. We can easily collaborate without placing any commitments on people, whether contract, part- or full-time ones. Contributors can vote with their time - joining when they want and in ways they deem best.
In our repository, we have bounties of differing sizes, indicating the possible reward. Currently forming the total of around $50k, this amount is subject to change due to work presently going into launching para chains.
There are numerous web3 bounty platforms available, but none of them met our requirements. They were either too slow or their processes were not applicable to us. To address this issue, we came up with an idea to create an assignment was necessary because some contributors were only asking questions and not delivering their work even after a week or two. Therefore, we implemented a strict system where each GitHub handle is only allowed one chance to contribute and has a limited time to deliver their work. Additionally, we experimented with a queue system which was interesting to have and we believe it will be useful when the market is bullish again. Another notable factor was when one person took on too many tasks that they could handle. To solve this problem, we set a virtual metric of 5 issues that needed to be resolved before their work was merged.
You can learn more about the rules of assigning in our repository.
Originally, we started by simply dropping the address, which seemed like a straightforward method. However, someone still had to process it. Later, we developed a simple one-field app that generated a link when people entered their address, which made things easier. However, some users didn't know their address, so we included a "reward me" link. Over time, we added a USD amount feature, which allowed users to easily add the desired amount they wanted to be paid. We also added a batch processing feature. Currently, our transfer app supports nine chains, and we are considering making it a separate payroll processing system. Our KodaDot URI payment scheme is being used across all departments, from NFT-gallery to workers, indexers, ambassadors, internal payrolls, and suppliers. This standardization ensures seamless and fast payments. We are currently redesigning our transfer app, with the aim of turning it into a dedicated product from KodaDot Labs- another flagship experiment that has stood the time.
To this day, our KodaDot payment URI was used with over $810k processed rewards across KodaDot ecosystem
As we making contributions to our project and receiving daily pull requests ranging between 20 to 50, manually processing payments became a time-consuming task. To streamline the process, we developed a simple that parsed payment links from the KodaDot URI in the pull request templates. Whenever someone writes "pay 100 usd" in a PR, the bot would look up the address and process the payment, providing proof of payment and marking the PR as "paid." We also conducted an experiment where anyone who merged 50 PRs into our repository gained access to our hot wallet containing $5k and could pay themselves when the work was completed. This experiment proved successful and created interesting dynamics.
We have notes on how to replicate this game and were even interviewed by Autocode, who later copied our process as their template.
After observing that some contributors have been active for a longer time and have established credibility, we been contemplating ways to promote and encourage them to contribute more. We are considering implementing a more flexible process that will allow these contributors to give back to the community. One idea we have been exploring is the establishment of a code review guild. Currently, the guild has eight members who are selected on a round-robin basis to their presence on various pull requests.
This is the reason why we are constantly learning and striving for the best, as there is no definitive solution. Our approach is collaborative, with the aim of making it the best possible way for everyone, and ensuring inclusivity. To this end, we have a few labels such as 'works-for-me', 'code-lgtm', 'qa-ok', and 'changes-requested'. These are the fundamental tools that enable those with greater privileges to apply these labels.
Documenting this particular issue can be quite challenging. In our current development, we assume the possibility of merge conflicts between the release and master branches. To minimize the occurrence of conflicts, we leverage GitHub issues as much as possible and make them atomic, ensuring that pull requests have fewer conflicts when two individuals work on the same thing. This helps prevent clashes in merge conflicts when one person's pull request is merged, knocking off another one in the queue.
At one point, our KodaDot development team of two was able to achieve a "refresh-rate" of nearly 250 pull requests in a single month. This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially considering that larger corporations struggle to reach even 50 pull requests in the same timeframe. Our experiment took off when we allowed others to access our hot wallet and payments started functioning in a peer-to-peer culture. This was essentially a DAO experiment, albeit without the use of any DAO tokens.
We are currently devising a plan to gradually introduce the system to other repositories in collaboration with our partners. Our aim is to simplify the developer onboarding process and make it less cumbersome. One of the major enhancements we plan to implement is the payout in USDT. Additionally, we are exploring the possibility of collaborating with other partners and leveraging bounty networks.

We've been giving away presentations at UTXO'23 about our pay-per-contribution model and mentioning in KodaDot ecosystem 2023
A.K.A. experiments
We've been experimenting with lots of stuff for the last 24+ months.
From the bull run spring of 2021 through late 2022, we've backlogged over 5000 issues in our primary repository and managed to made 3000 pull requests and updates to our KodaDot codebase—and some have been wildly fruitful.
Read more about Merchandise shop and find testimonials there
With these types of NFTs, we've enabled users to reveal particular phrases for their owners of NFTs. It's still in private beta, yet if someone would like to use it, we can help onboard, reach out in KodaDot Ecosystem Telegram
We've made our merchandise shop even cooler.
At Polkadot MiniConf, we created unique NFTs for local participants to unlock exclusive content with unlockables.
The entire KodaDot experiment began quite wildly. We faced difficulties in finding reasonable developers on fair terms during the bull run without resorting to exorbitant payrolls. We had previously enjoyed a positive experience with Gitcoin, so we thought, "Why not give it a try and add some labels to our repositories?"
Experiments have been constantly evolving, and now they're a crucial pillar of KodaDot DAO. Currently, code contributors receive $KSM rewards, and those who have made 20 impressive pull-requests are eligible for baseline payroll. Moreover, they can also receive additional bounties as motivation for quick delivery.
This comes after we've been exploring how the model with bounties works, but it still needs a bit more automation. We believe in gig work, so we're looking for ways to leverage these strategies across other products and eventually open-source it for others.
Hence we've processed over $300k in bounties for our contributors; we've been looking ways to make it a seamless reward link for contributors. We've established an internal URI, which works for our needs and looking forward making it as public product
We've processed over $500k through our transfer dialogue based on past dispatched payrolls. These days we are reworking the transfer flow; in the future, it will be a fully-fledged app for your web3 team to use natively. Currently supported currencies are $KSM, $DOT and there will be support for $USDT in the future. If you want to use KodaDot Transfer, feel free to do so! - https://kodadot.xyz/dot/transfer/
Our secret at KodaDot is that we offer the most endpoints for NFTs in the Polkadot ecosystem. We've decided to share this know-how, playing positive-sum games with others and providing a seamless API to build on top of. Learn more about Uniquery in our Achievements section.
We've been exploring ways to enhance blue-chip collections and, more importantly, accommodate customizations of storefronts required for each gaming collection of artists to feel native. Under the hood, it's supercharged by KodaDot technologies. To some extent, we've found a win-win situation. We've leveraged our KodaDot API and created a quick demonstration. The good news? More than three storefronts are already in the wild using our API in its infant stage.

Most Substrate-based chains, including Polkadot, use an existential deposit (ED) to prevent small accounts from bloating the chain state.
In Polkadot, we have something called Existential Deposit (ED). When you generate an account (address), you only generate a key that lets you access it. The account does not exist yet on-chain. For that, it needs the existential deposit of 1 DOT.
If you fall below the existential deposit limit, your account will be reaped. That means your account will be wiped from the blockchain's state to conserve space, along with any funds in that address. You do not lose access to the reaped address - as long as you have your private key or recovery phrase, you can still use the address - but it needs a top-up of another existential deposit to be able to interact with the chain.
It is important to note that transaction fees do not lead to an account being deleted. This is because the fees are deducted from the account before any other transaction logic. If an account has a balance that is equal to the required minimum deposit, it cannot create a valid transaction. To complete a transaction, additional funds must be added to cover the transaction fees.
Polkadot: 1 DOT (currently 1,5)
Polkadot Asset Hub: 0.01 DOT (currently 0.5)
Kusama: 0.000333 KSM
Kusama Asset Hub: 0.000003333 KSM
If you send a transfer with a value below the ED to a new account, it will fail.
If you are getting royalties from the collection, you need to have this existential deposit in the account that is receiving these royalties. If you remove the existing deposit, you will not be able to receive royalties and they may be lost.
In order to receive royalties, always keep your existential deposit in your wallet on the correct chain!
Always be aware of how much of your funds you teleport so you don't lose your funds and get yourself under the ED.

Migrator is a service KodaDot offers to collections on RMRK1 or RMRK2. All collection owners who created these collections can decide if they want to move their collection to another chain.
RMRK1 and RMRK2 are chains that are not getting any attention, and no team in the ecosystem is building them. It's always better to have your art and collectibles where the activity is.
You can migrate your collection or NFTs to Asset Hub Polkadot or Asset Hub Kusama.
You can migrate collections or individual NFTs.
Migration of collection: Only the collection owner (the account that created the collection) can migrate the collection. Migration will migrate the collection and NFTs that are owned by the same owner (for example, NFTs that were not sold or NFTs bought back by the collection creator). NFTs that were sold to other users will have to be migrated by those users.
Migration of individual NFTs: NFTs that belong to a collection can be migrated only if the collection was first migrated by its creator. In this case, you will see your NFTs on the migrator page under "waiting for your action section".
Collection: You have to pay fees on both chains, the one you are migrating from and the one you are migrating to. Depending on where you are migrating your collection or the NFT, you will need to cover fees/deposits for:
Burning old collection
Collection Existential Deposit
NFT existential deposit
KodaDot fee
You should be able to see a summary of the fees once you start the migrating process. More about fees here:
You can see the FAQ on the right side.
Source and Destination chains on the bottom left side.
On the bottom of the page you should see collections/NFTs that are eligible to be migrated.
Select collections/NFTs you want to migrate and follow the instructions as they appear.
Can't find your collection? Make sure you are connected to the correct account/address that owns the collection.
Go to and click on your profile in the top right corner. In the bottom of the sidebar, select the option Migrate.
The best thing you can do is open and describe what happened. You can also join our and ask in the /help channel.

Go to https://kodadot.xyz/, connect your wallet, and choose Kusama in the top right corner.
To explore Kusama NFTs click on explore in the top right corner and choose between collections or items (all NFTs in collections).
There are a few things in the menu under Explore that you can change in your search. You can sort them by different attributes. If you click on Items - to see prices, just toggle on the button Buy now. Wait till the transaction is processed, it may take a moment.
After you buy your NFT, you can find it in your profile between collected NFTs.
What are these drops and how to participate? This page is for collectors coming to KodaDot and thinking about buying NFTs.
What is a Generative Drop?
In general, an NFT drop refers to the release or launch of a new set of NFTs. They involve a limited number of tokens. This scarcity is a key feature that can drive demand and value. KodaDot, in late 2023, was the first marketplace that implemented generative art in the Polkadot ecosystem. As a celebration of this achievement, we decided to reward our collectors and audience with amazing opportunities to collect limited generative art NFTs.
Each drop is different, in collaboration with a different artist, and has different conditions. Some drops are paid, and some are free. Drop can be limited by various conditions like:
minimum amount of funds in a wallet
being an owner of previous NFT drops
limited mints per wallet
and of course, some drops are with no conditions too
These conditions will always be visible on the drop page.
Go to KodaDot and check Drops in the top right corner.
You should be able to see active, planned, and ended drops there. You can see their status. Also, you are able to see the number of NFTs in the collection and their price.
Connect your wallet and enjoy the Drop! Recommended wallets can be found here. Don't forget every generative art drop has the option to play with variations. Click under the picture on Generate to get a new version of the NFT. Once you click to mint you receive a random NFT and not the one shown in the preview. This gives you a moment of surprise!
We also have a feature that allows you to mint more NFTs at once. Simply select the number you want to mint and click on mint. If you select a higher number - minting will take a bit longer, so be patient. You should see previews of the NFTs once it loads. You can then choose to mint them.
Some people report that they do not see the art instantly after the mint. This is caused by the "Kodadot Minter," which mints approximately ~40 tx/min. So the worst case is that the user misses the window and needs to wait 1 min + ~ 48 sec for finalization (then it is picked up by the indexer).
So don't panic and be patient - Metadata replication can take up to two minutes!
If you encounter any issues, connect with the team in our Telegram group or open an issue directly in our GitHub repository. Prepare screenshots and try to describe what happened in a detailed way.

Put a cool idea together before you start minting.
Each collection should have a story, and descriptions for collections and NFTs should always be filled out properly. It's not possible to change them later, and it's the first information collectors will see.
You are selling your art, not the marketplace. Whether your art will be sold depends on many factors: price, the campaign you create, identity, and marketing.

Curated generative drops + minting NFTs on AssetHub
There are more options on how to mint on KodaDot as we support different networks. The most common option is minting Asset Hub. One of the main differences during minting is the fee structure. In both cases, you pay deposits that will be returned if you decide to burn the collection/NFT you created. Minting on Polkadot Asset Hub is more expensive than doing so on Kusama.
Mass minting will allow you to mint a huge amount of NFTs at once.
Learn how to mint nonfungible tokens (NFTs) on the Polkadot/Kusama Asset Hub using KodaDot - the complete step-by-step guide for beginners.

Learn more about Assey Hub on Polkadot or Kusama. How to mint on Asset Hub, how to bridge funds on Asset Hub, and more.
Polkadot is a network consisting of numerous independent blockchains, referred to as parachains. These parachains operate simultaneously to facilitate quicker transactions, all while enjoying the security and decentralization of Polkadot as a whole.
The Polkadot Asset Hub is a parachain created for the common good, with the purpose of creating and sending fungible and non-fungible (NFTs) tokens throughout the entire Polkadot ecosystem.
We distinguish between two Asset Hubs - One for Polkadot and one for Kusama. Both are supported on KodaDot.
Learn more about how to mint your NFTs on Asset Hub. Decide which chain you want to use and jump on it. One of the main differences during minting is the fee structure. In both cases, you pay deposits that will be returned if you decide to burn the collection/NFT you created. Minting on Polkadot AssetHub is more expensive.
Here you can find all the info about paying fees on Ahp or Ahk:
Your DOT and KSM tokens must move to AssetHub chains so you can buy/mint/transfer/list your NFTs. Only after that are you able to interact with these NFTs and pay transaction fees.
In case you need help moving your funds out of Asset Hub, here is a tutorial:
Note: As a system parachain, the Asset Hub has a trusted relationship with the Relay Chain and, as such, can teleport DOT/KSM between itself and the Relay Chain. That is, DOT/KSM on the Asset Hub is just as good as KSM on the Relay Chain.
If you have more questions, join our Telegram channel and feel free to ask!
Teleport helps you to bridge assets between chains. This feature is necessary if you want to interact with other chains.
In KodaDot, we have two types of teleport:
🟢 Auto teleport: You will receive this option automatically once you want to create/ buy/ interact with NFTs and you don't have enough funds on one chain. It will automatically show during the process.
🔵 Teleport (Bridge): This is the same teleport as above, with the same functionality. The main difference - it's manual. You will find it in the menu below your profile, and you will be able to move your funds between chains as you need.
It's important to remind you that bridging funds between chains will just move your funds between different chains we support. Your funds can always be returned to the main network, and they don't lose value when you bridge them. The process of bridging is very quick and simple.
The transfer feature allows you to send KSM (or BSX) between different addresses. You can also create a custom reward link if you want someone to send you some balance. Read on to learn more.
Sending Kusama/Polkadot tokens to other accounts is possible on KodaDot. You only need to connect your wallet and choose the transfer function.
Go to your profile in the top right corner and select Transfer.
Select which tokens you want to send. At the moment, you can choose between DOT, KSM, and BSX.
Write the address and amount you want to send. You can also choose to see the amount in DOT or USD.
Add more recipients: In case you want to make a batch payment, you can add more recipients to your transfer. Just click on Add recipient +. You can also select send the same amount (to all of them).
Click on Continue and sign the transaction.
If you want someone to send you some funds, you can create a payment link on KodaDot. Fill out the amount you want someone to pay you and click on the three dots in the corner. Select Pay me link. Your link was copied. Now you paste it (ctrl + v).
This link can be sent to your friends or people who will click on it. After they click on it they will be redirected to KodaDot Transfer, where they will see your address already filled with the amount you want them to pay.
There may be some cases when you decide to burn your collection and its NFTs. This is possible to do on KodaDot, and it's very simple.
If you want to burn the collection, you must first burn all NFTs minted in this collection. It needs to be empty. If someone bought one of those NFTs, you will not be able to burn it because you are not the owner of the NFT. In this case, you cannot burn the collection.
Let's first look at burning an NFT and then at burning a collection.
Step 1: Open an NFT you want to burn. You can find NFTs you own/created in your profile.
Step 2: Click on the three dots in the right corner and click on Burn
Step 3: Sign the transaction. Sign the transaction and wait till the page finishes loading.
To burn your collection, all NFTs that were minted in it must be burned first.
Step 1: Open the collection you want to burn. You can find it if you go to your profile and click on Collections. Select the correct chain and choose which collection you want to burn.
Step 2: Delete the collection. On the top right side of the page, click on three dots and select Delete. Sign the transaction and wait till it finishes loading.
Any tokens that you use as deposits will automatically return to your wallet.
Both burning an NFT and burning a collection are irreversible actions. So don't do this if you are not sure about it!
If you want to move your assets between chains, you will need to teleport (bridge) them. Here you have a complete and easy guide on how to do it.
It's important to remind you that bridging funds between chains will just move your funds between different chains we support. Your funds can always be returned to the main network, and they don't lose value when you bridge them. The process of bridging is very quick and simple.
Go to https://kodadot.xyz, connect with your wallet, and click on your profile (circle in the top right corner). Your profile will open up. Click on the Teleport Bridge option.
Source chain: Select from where you want to move your assets
Destination: To what chain you want to bridge your funds
Your options will show when you click on the field. You cannot bridge randomly between the chains. Your options will be shown once you click on the Destination chain.
It's always possible to bridge your funds back to where you bridged them from.
Select the amount that you want to transfer between chains and click on Proceed to Confirmation. Confirm the transaction popup and wait a few seconds.
Congratulations! Your funds were successfully bridged.
In your profile, you should be able to see all your assets on all your chains.
First row: Chain - on which chain your asset is
Second row: Token - what kind of asset/token is on that chain
Third row: Balance - the number of tokens you have
Fourth row: Balance - your balance in USD
Teleports come with an additional fee on the destination chain. This fee is deducted from the teleported amount of DOT or KSM, and it's very low (in cents). Remainder: The remaining amount needs to be greater than the existential deposit of the destination chain. Otherwise, the entire balance you teleported will be lost!
In the fast-paced world of NFT trading, ensuring you have enough funds on hand is crucial. That's where our Auto-Teleport feature comes in.
This unique tool allows you to automatically bridge the required funds from your wallet, eliminating the hassle of manually transferring funds every time you're short. With just one extra transaction signature, you're good to go!
Not all NFTs are on the same chain. KodaDot supports more chains, so you have the option to buy or mint your art in different places. At the moment we have:
Polkadot Asset Hub NFTs: bridge DOT → Asset Hub Polkadot
Kusama Asset Hub NFTs: bridge KSM → Asset Hub Kusama
Kusama NFTs (RMRK standards): where you can use the KSM you have normally on Kusama Network
You are still using the same DOT and KSM you have; you are just bridging it between different chains.
That's why we created Auto-Teleport. This feature will allow you to buy, list, and create NFTs without the need to teleport your tokens manually. It will automatically bridge the amount of tokens you need from most asset-rich chains.
Effortless transfers: Switching between networks without a worry. Auto-teleport bridges assets from your richest chain.
Time-saving: No more manual asset transfers. Let us do the job.
Smooth experience: relish a seamless trading experience across varied networks at a toggle switch away.
Example:
Let's say that you have in your wallet some DOT tokens, and you want to buy an NFT on Asset Hub Polkadot (AHP). All NFTs on AHP have their price in DOTs, but in order to buy an NFT, you need to bridge your DOTs first. Auto Teleport feature will allow you to buy an NFT without doing extra steps. You will only get a popup showing you the best teleport option, which you can confirm. You will be asked to sign one extra transaction, and the NFt will be yours.
It works both ways. Your only concern is to have DOT or KSM tokens in your wallet in order to start your shopping, nothing more.
First-time users will see this screen popup with some general information about the feature:
Auto Teleport should activate itself once you have enough funds on other chains. It will appear during:
Creation process: Create collection/NFT
Buying NFTs
Listing NFTs
This short tutorial will help you understand the Auto-Teleport feature in simple terms, making your NFT buying experience smooth and easy! Let's try buying NFT with this feature.
First, browse through the marketplace and find an NFT that you like and want to buy.
Note: You can use this feature even with the cart function! Add any number of NFTs to your cart and then buy them as a batch with the help of Auto Teleport.
Click the "Buy" button or add to your cart. The system will check if you have enough money in your wallet to buy the NFT. You can purchase or add the NFTs to your card directly from the Explorer:
Or you can open a specific NFT and do it from there:
If there's not enough money in your account, don't worry! The "Auto-Teleport" option will appear. This feature will help you bring the money you need to your account.
Click on the "Teleport and Confirm Purchase" button. The system will guide you on how to move the needed money to your account. This option will be clickable only if you have enough funds on the other chain.
You will see a message asking you to approve the transaction. This means you need to give permission to bridge your tokens. The whole process will be visible on your screen. In total, you will need to sign two transactions.
After signing two transactions and a short wait, it's done!
You've learned how to use the "Auto-Teleport" feature. Now, you can buy NFTs more easily. Enjoy your shopping!

Unique feature that is now available on KodaDot is one of the most exciting things you can have as an artist.
Usually, when an NFT project announces its upcoming drop, it is done on its official Twitter or Discord platform. The announcement usually includes details about the allowlist, the reveal, and the drop schedule. This creates a perfect opportunity to get people excited about the upcoming collection.
Each Drop has its own individual and dedicated page. There are many things that can be customized here. Phases, limits, availability, and schedule are the basic things artists and projects can plan to make the experience more attractive. You can show off specific NFTs as an example or add them all so that people can choose directly with NFT they want to mint. I mean, there are a lot of possibilities.
And minting? It's simple. Connect your wallet and mint your free (sometimes paid) NFT. And these NFTs are not any Polkadot NFTs. Drop Page is a canvas that can be customized to suit various needs. During this time, when I was writing this article, we had two drops open. Both were NFTs created with the help of an AI minter, trained for different results. You simply connect your wallet and mint an NFT, and the AI model will create a unique one for you, and it will mint it directly to your wallet.
We already mentioned some of the features we implemented in this article. All of them are customizable. You can choose which one you want and which one you don't. Here is a small preview of the main features we have:
Select what day your minting starts, what hours will be available, and how long. We can adjust this to your needs. Minting one hour every day for one week? No problem. We can also include an attractive countdown so your audience can better understand upcoming events.
The basic limit is selecting how many NFTs in total can be minted. This varies on your collection size, but in some cases (AI minting, generative art), this number can be adjusted regarding your preferences.
You can also limit mints by the number of NFTs that can be minted at various times. Choose how many can be minted max during different phases. And, of course, we can show the availability of your NFTs so people know how much of them are left.
Do you want your custom link to your drop page? No problem. In some exceptional cases, we can also hide your Drop so you can target a specific audience.
Depends on you. You can choose.
This is one of the BEST benefits we offer. We allow you to connect your NFT collection to our merch shop and reward your loyal audience with a free merchandise drop. Depending on your budget, the size of the project, and the audience, we can offer you some starting amount for free.
To make these drops even more interesting, we allow, in some cases, custom designs in our shop. You only need to deliver your design, and our shop will handle everything else.
Adding your own unlockable content.
We already have a lot of features, and we are still planning to add more in the future. Is something missing from the list? Let us know! Our team can work on it.
When you go to and in the right-up corner select , you will see drops that are happening at the moment. They are time-limited collections that are created for a specific audience. The goal of these is to create a unique experience for people visiting our platform. Artists, creators, and collectors can use and, in some cases, obtain free NFTs, with extra surprises coming with each one.
But that's not all. We connected unlockables so you can experience the excitement of unlocking hidden rewards! Each NFT from official drops had hidden content available only for those who minted their NFT. You only need to check your profile to find the NFT and click "Unlockable Content" to reveal the surprise.
In the category , you can see planned future drops. There you can also find a drop page for people interested in having one. Your page can also be there. ❤️

It is an exciting way to showcase digital art and educate the public about this innovative medium.
One of the goals we have is to connect people with the same passion - art. That's why we organise physical NFT exhibitions. During these events, we focus on promoting digital art, enlightening people about its significance and the technology behind it, building connections, and enjoying amazing art.
Another goal in hosting these exhibitions is to connect the digital art world with the traditional art scene. By presenting digital artworks in a physical space, we make them more tangible and accessible to a broader audience. This helps in breaking down barriers and misconceptions about NFTs, making the digital art world more inclusive and understandable.
The benefits of these exhibitions are significant. They provide a vital platform for artists associated with KodaDot to gain visibility and recognition. By bringing their digital creations to a physical audience, we open doors for increased sales, collaborations, and artist growth. Moreover, these events are perfect for fostering community engagement. They draw together individuals who share an enthusiasm for art and technology, creating a vibrant space for networking and exchanging ideas.
Additionally, by educating the public about the intricacies of NFTs and digital art, we're expanding the market. This not only benefits current artists and collectors but also attracts new participants to the NFT space, fueling the overall growth of the ecosystem.
Here are some events with NFT galleries organized by KodaDot. Each event is different, with its own specifications. In some of our exhibitions, we also enriched the experience with the inclusion of conferences. These conferences added an educational and interactive element to the events. The art showcased in these galleries was the primary attraction, driving the essence and theme of each exhibition.

When: February 2025

Koda exhibited for the first time at NFTParis, and it was an amazing experience. We had the chance to showcase art from 48 talented artists, displaying more than 370 unique NFTs. This event was important because it allowed us to introduce Polkadot to a wider audience and show them that a lot is happening in our ecosystem, especially in the artistic community.
NFTParis is one of the biggest NFT events in Europe, bringing together artists, collectors, builders, and web3 enthusiasts. Being part of this event gave us the opportunity to connect with people who are truly passionate about digital art and blockchain technology. It was a great place to share ideas, meet new artists, and show how NFTs on Polkadot can be a game-changer.
For Koda, it was also a big step forward. We were able to demonstrate that Polkadot has a strong and creative NFT community. Many people still don’t know about the opportunities on Polkadot, and this event helped us spread awareness. We had great conversations with visitors who were curious about how our marketplace works and why Polkadot is a great place for NFTs. We can’t wait for more events like this in the future!
Looking ahead, we are eagerly gearing up for more exciting ventures in the world of digital art. Building on the experience gained from our previous exhibitions, we're brainstorming innovative ways to make future events even more engaging, interactive, and educational. Our plans include not only organizing additional exhibitions but also contributing our art to shows hosted by other art projects, constantly reimagining the attendee experience.
A key focus for us now is on generative art, and we're particularly thrilled about organizing an exhibition solely dedicated to this captivating form of digital expression. This shift reflects our commitment to exploring new frontiers in art and offering unique, thought-provoking experiences to our community.
Our physical NFT exhibitions are more than just events; they are a cornerstone of our commitment to advancing digital art, supporting artists, and educating the wider community about the exciting possibilities within the NFT landscape.

Frequently Asked Questions about KodaDot
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are unique digital items stored on blockchain that have a designated owner. In a process called 'minting', you can create NFTs using your cryptocurrency wallet and the blockchain.
KodaDot is a community-managed NFT platform operating on an eco-friendly blockchain. Kusama is like a testing ground for the Polkadot network, sharing the same core architecture and utilizing a nominated proof-of-stake consensus. It's a place to experiment and innovate in the Polkadot ecosystem, often resulting in unexpected outcomes or "chaos".
Building on Kusama/Polkadot provides several benefits. Substrate, the framework for constructing blockchains used here, offers upgrade capabilities and optimum efficiency. It also allows for shared security and scalability. Our choice also stems from potential future costs of Ethereum and its current environmental footprint.
At this point, KodaDot is funded through Kusama Treasury for the initial phase. We are actively exploring other funding avenues and could potentially hold a private funding round. If this interests you, feel free to connect with us on Discord.
The current KodaDot press kit can be accessed here (link required).
KSM (with any currency depending on the platform) can be purchased or sold through platforms such as Binance, Bybit and our RAMP network integration.
For metadata updates in the extension, go to Dotapps.io > Settings > Metadata. Click 'Update metadata', then refresh your window. Your chain types should now be updated.
In case you have more questions, feel free to connect with us on Twitter or Discord.
On KodaDot, there's a wide range of content you can mint or create, like static photos (.jpg, .png, .svg, .tiff, .bmp), moving images (.gif), videos (.mp4, .webp), audio files (.mp3, .flac), 3D objects (.glb), and internet text/data (.json). Do remember to follow the Code of Conduct and appropriately classify any NSFW content during the minting process.
The storage for the NFT files is primarily on Pinata Cloud and the IPFS (Interplanetary File System) network. Our long-term plan includes an integration with ArWeave for the permanent storage of NFT Metadata under the Permafrost project.
You can learn more about setting up your identity in KodaDot here.
In Polkadot network, a minimum amount of 1 DOT for Polkadot and 0.0000333333 KSM for Kusama is required to keep an address active. This minimum amount is referred to as the Existential Deposit (ED). It helps to prevent the "bloating" of the blockchain state from accounts with minimal or zero balance.
Currently, this feature is not offered. If you'd like to propose such changes, feel free to raise an issue on our GitHub page.
If you didn't set a price for your NFT when you first made it, go to your profile, choose your NFT in 'Created', and click on 'LIST' to set a price.
We deliver daily incremental updates to resolve issues. Clearing your browser cache can also help. If this doesn’t resolve your issue, you can message us on Twitter or Discord with a screenshot of the error message.
Sometimes it can take a minute for your minted NFT to appear. You can check the status through the Subscan Explorer.
Double-check if you have transferable KSM in your account. If it's staked, it won't be available. Visit Dotapps.io > Comptes, and unfold 'balances' to check your transferable amount.
For any other questions, you can reach out to us on Twitter or Discord.
Royalties are financial payments that original creators earn each time their NFT art is resold. Artist royalties are automated on each resale, ensuring creators always receive a percentage of the sale price.
Yes, we support Royalties on Basilisk and RMRK2.
No, KodaDot has not issued an official token. Keep an eye on our official social media channels for updates and be cautious of scams and false information from unofficial sources.
SEND allows you to send the NFT to another user, BURN lets you destroy the NFT permanently, and LIST enables you to list your NFT for sale.
Yes, you can! KodaDot supports the Nova wallet for purchasing NFTs from your mobile device. We've prepared a video walkthrough and article explaining how to use this feature.
Currently, RMRK does not have chain logic to prevent more than one transaction in the same block. If this occurs, it's up to the artist to either refund the additional buyers or mint the same NFT as a token of gratitude.
Kusama is a proving ground for projects that want to move fast and innovate on the Polkadot network, which shares the same underlying architecture. $KSM is the native cryptocurrency used for transactions on the Kusama network.
Finally, for any other inquiries, feel free to connect with us on Twitter or Discord.
If you encounter an error, first try clearing your browser cache. This often fixes common issues as we regularly release updates and your browser might have cached an older version. If this doesn’t work, send us a screenshot of the error message on Twitter or Discord, or raise an issue directly in our GitHub repository.
Yes, if you're using a Mac, you can open the developer console on Chrome by pressing Option, CMD, J, or on Firefox by pressing Command+Option+K.
Currently, this functionality is not available. If you wish to suggest such a feature, feel free to raise an issue on our GitHub page.
At the moment, the maximum size of the NFt that can be uploaded is around 30 MB.
You don't need to be technically or artistically inclined to contribute to KodaDot. We have many opportunities for those like you who want to change the open-source NFT marketplace. We believe one of the best ways to bring a community together is by bringing a challenge amongst themselves. This way, members either learn how to collaborate or innovate.
We built KodaDot as an open-source community project. Everyone can contribute regardless of their technical ability and dedication. Choose what you're good at and get rewarded. We value the high-quality effort. Here's what you can do for us:
We are always innovating and reiterating, which means we must update our documentation as frequently and accurately as possible in all of KodaDot's available languages. We welcome new translations (i.e in another language) as well as updates to our previously existing translations!
If you'd like to contribute to KodaDot by translating our documentation in any way, please make sure you understand:
Each contribution needs at least TWO native-speaking reviewers in the language of the contribution, otherwise, your pull request won't be approved.
We'll show you step-by-step how to contribute to KodaDot by translating
Go to the "langDir" folder and open it
Once you're in "nft-gallery/langDir/", go to the upper right corner and click on "Fork" - this is the codebase that you'll be able to make changes in
IMPORTANT: The "en.json" file is where the new updates (builds/additions) will be. If you're translating in another language, make sure what you're translating is up to date with the en.json file. You might come across previously translated parts when accessing your language. All you have to do is take what's translated, compare it with en.json, and translate what wasn't previously in your file. Your other option is to start your translation from scratch.
Click on the "edit" icon to make changes. You can scroll through the file to see what hasn't been translated accurately or what hasn't been updated.
When you finish making changes, scroll until you see the "Commit Changes" box.
If you're updating a previously existing translation, put "Update yourlanguage.json" (for example, "Update fr.json")
If you're adding a new language, put "Add mylanguage.json" (for example, "Add kr.json")
Then commit all the changes.
🎉 Congratulations! You've submitted your change! All you have to do is wait for our approval
Remember, you have to get TWO native-speaking reviewers to review your change
$50-100 USD - Updating a previously existing translation (minor tweaks, significant upgrades, rephrasing etc.) $150-300 USD - Translating a new language
The main focus of our bug bounty program is to make sure KodaDot's user experience goes as smoothly as possible. One of our goals is to hunt down possible bugs that may occur during KodaDot's constantly evolving platform.
1) Go to 'nft-gallery'
2) Click on 'Issues'
3) Click on "New issue"
4) Choose "Get Started" on the Bug Report option
5) Fill out the boxes
NOTE: The more thorough and detailed your bug reports are, the faster a developer can review it and reward you in $KSM. Collaborators and contributors have a say on the significance of the bug and whether or not it should be prioritized, which might affect the speed in which the bug is resolved.
Feel free to ask in our Discord about the issue you submitted
We reward bounty hunters in $KSM. They can vary from $50 up to $600 depending on the severity of the bug. However, you can become disqualified if you don't follow the Code of Conduct.
To have a way the faster pace of development, as our current pace of pull-requests was hitting 250 pull-requests in February on a monthly average, we've realized we need more people to participate and to share with developers more humble and honest feedback on their work.
The result would be that we could deliver user experience quality in a shorter time window. It's pretty natural that developers sometimes miss delivering the 100% specification in issues or something breaks. Happens and no need to make a drama out of it. Everyone is learning.
Till we have e2e tests complete on KodaDot, we would like to happily reward your participation for your input on our pull-requests to the codebase.
To participate, you must respect our code of conduct below
Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals but for the overall community
Once we are satisfied with your approach, we can give you rewards for reviewing our pull requests.
This is still undergoing thought process and experiment to establish a fixed amount of rewards for participation.
The base range where we value your contribution is around $20-$50. If there is the opportunity you are a technical contributor and you make origin pull-request suggestions on what and why should be done the other way, the possibility raises up to $100.

We are remote-friendly and asynchronous! Timezones aren't a problem here, we have contributors from around the world. As long as you're making progress at your own pace and staying on schedule with other team members, there's not difference. However, some of the most common characteristics we've seen from current members of KodaDot are their organization, time management skills, and communication.
Here at KodaDot, you're not expected to be a know-it-all. You're expected to learn and grow from the tasks you take on and the interactions you make with our community. KodaDot was created with the public in mind, hence us being a "public good". We want to make sure that inclusivity is enforced for people with all levels of experience. However, we want to make sure that you're taking tasks that you're motivated to complete, not just to have them assigned to you with no progress. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We're encouraging growth and community. If you need to ask a hundred questions before finally understanding something, then do it.
So whether you're a student fresh out of high school or a parent with three kids, you have a say in what we do around here.
Everyone starts from somewhere, and we understand that.
We put emphasis on long-term players because we believe that they have the most impact on not only our work but our community. You're more likely to get hired if we see you actively engaging in our Discord as we highly value cultural AND personal fit and contribute to KodaDot in the way that makes sense for you (are you a developer, artist, or helper?)
If everything goes well and your interests last, we would be more than happy to have you on board and start our journey of exploring NFTs together.
So, get those contributions in!

KodaDot supports various NFT standards running on EVM chains
Explore the details of ERC721, also known as the Ethereum standard for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and its operation and integration within the KodaDot platform.
ERC721 is a free, open standard on the Ethereum blockchain that describes how to create non-fungible or unique tokens. They have distinct properties and individual token IDs, ensuring that every token is unique in its own way
ERC721 functions using the Ethereum blockchain. This standard enables any item on Ethereum to be uniquely trackable. It upholds the ownership and transferability aspect of digital assets and includes features such as ownership management and token transfer.
The unique aspect of ERC721 lies in its non-fungible nature. Each token is distinct and cannot be replicated, ensuring that each digital asset represented has a unique value and ownership.
By utilizing the ERC721 standard, enjoy maintaining and showcasing your unique digital assets on the KodaDot platform. Each token represents a unique digital asset, making them ideal for collectibles, gaming items, and real-world assets.

We're more inclined to shine a light on those who have the potential to scale their projects in the long term. We want to invest in someone who's truly passionate about their work rather than someone who's here just to make a quick buck.
We have two programs that will help you earn something extra on the side.
Does this sound like you? We'll see you on the server.
Learn about ERC1155, a novel type of token standard on the EVM networks, its functions, and how it revolutionizes token interaction on the KodaDot platform.
ERC1155 is a token standard on the Ethereum blockchain that allows for the creation of both fungible and non-fungible tokens within a single contract. It offers an efficient, flexible, and unified approach to token creation and management.
ERC1155 operates by deploying a single smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain for an unlimited variety of digital assets. Each token within the contract is identified by a unique ID, allowing it to function as either a fungible or non-fungible token.
ERC1155 tokens stand out due to their ability to represent multiple token types within a single contract. This enables an unlimited variety of assets to be managed by one contract, increasing efficiency and flexibility in token interaction.
With the ERC1155 standard, take advantage of the flexibility and efficiency it offers in token interaction on the KodaDot platform. Whether fungible or non-fungible, each token holds a unique ID, offering you a broad range of possibilities for digital asset management.
Understand ERC6551 that redefines how ERC-721 tokens interact with the Ethereum blockchain by giving every non-fungible token its very own smart contract account.
EIP6551 is a proposal made to extend the functionality of every ERC-721 token by attaching them to specific smart contract accounts, effectively providing on-chain identity to these tokens. Each non-fungible token gets a unique, global identifier which gives it a distinct identity.
EIP6551 operates by creating uniquely, deterministically addressed smart contract accounts for each ERC-721 token via a permissionless registry. It maintains complete compatibility with existing ERC-721 token contracts, therefore not requiring any changes to previously deployed ERC-721 contracts. Control over each token-bound account is given to the owner of the ERC-721 token, enabling the owner to initiate on-chain actions on behalf of their token.
The unique feature of ERC6551 lies in its ability to turn each ERC-721 token into a standalone entity capable of owning assets and interacting with applications on the Ethereum blockchain. This expands the functionality of non-fungible tokens, allowing them to accumulate assets and record transaction history.
ERC6551 is a breakthrough in enhancing the capabilities of non-fungible tokens. Through ERC6551, ERC-721 tokens not only represent a unique digital asset but can also interact independently with the blockchain and other on-chain applications. This opens a plethora of possibilities in the world of non-fungible tokens on the KodaDot platform.
Welcome to the onboarding guide for RMRK1.0 on Kodadot, the open-source Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplace on the Kusama network.
Step into the realm of RMRK 1.0, an innovative standard for minting NFTs within the vibrant Kusama network. In the world of RMRK 1.0, we utilize "remarks," akin to secret codes inscribed on the blocks of a blockchain, creating a unique universe for each NFT.
Imagine a blockchain as a bustling train station, with each block representing a train. Within these trains are compartments filled with transactions, moving from one station to another. RMRK 1.0 paints unique murals or "remarks" on these train compartments, creating a distinct identity without tampering with the passengers inside (transactions).
Take, for example, our friend Alice, who starts her journey with 5 Apples, symbolized by the mural
ALICE::Init::Apple::5. When Alice decides to share her Apples with Bob, she can create a new mural:
ALICE::Send::Apple::3::Bob.
RMRK 1.0 ensures Alice has enough Apples in her basket, verifies that she's the artist behind the mural, and confirms that Bob is a legitimate friend to share Apples with.
RMRK 1.0 breathes life into the concept of NFTs by introducing on-chain emotes, fostering a dynamic and engaging user experience. This standard is a simple yet potent tool that allows users to store multimedia references, resembling a digital canvas where creators can paint their imagination, just like familiar NFT standards such as Ethereum.
RMRK 1.0 unravels a new pathway for NFT creation and interaction on the Kusama network. While its successor, RMRK 2.0, may have taken center stage, understanding RMRK 1.0 is akin to appreciating the foundation that supports the majestic edifice of advanced NFT standards on Kusama and beyond.
Ready to explore more? Gear up for an exciting expedition with our guide on RMRK 2.0.
KodaDot has been among the first supporting RMRK v0.1, v1, and recently supporting RMRKv2.
Both networks are an important part of Kusama NFT's history, and both share a lot of similarities. We can refer to both of them as Kusama NFTs. Continue reading to another page if you want to learn more about the differences between these two.
KodaDot been among first supporting Statemine Unique pallet and NFT pallet
Discover the intricacies of the NFTs Pallet on KodaDot, a pivotal resource that enables efficient management and customization of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
The NFTs Pallet provides a multitude of functionalities to facilitate interactions with Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on the KodaDot platform. With this FRAME pallet meant for developers, you can create, modify, and manage NFT collections in a user-friendly manner.
A collection in the pallet is managed by various roles with specific permissions. An 'Owner' can destroy collections or alter the team, whereas an 'Admin' can change attributes or lock item properties. 'Issuers' can mint NFTs, and 'Freezers' can restrict item transfers.
You can assign an item with three types of attributes: System attributes, Collection owner’s attributes, and User attributes. The pallet also allows the creation of collections via the NFTs.create extrinsic. Options such as the maximum number of items (maxSupply), price, and a time frame of validity can be specified during creation.
Minting an NFT involves using the nfts.mint extrinsic and specifying the collection, item, and the owner of the new NFT. Unique specifications can be set for each item, introducing a high degree of customization.
After minting your NFT, the next steps involve uploading the NFT file and associated metadata into the Pinata service to obtain a unique Content Identifier (CID). The CID can later be assigned to the collection or item through the Polkadot-JS UI.
The NFTs Pallet offers a variety of actions including buying items, burning items, updating smart attributes, setting metadata, and even transferring ownership. Advanced functions such as NFT fractionalization and mass minting are under development.
The NFTs Pallet in KodaDot provides a robust toolset for developers to easily integrate and manage NFTs within their dApps. This functionality, combined with ongoing enhancements, helps consolidate KodaDot’s position as a go-to platform for innovative NFT solutions.
Welcome to the new age of NFTs with RMRKv2. As a platform that equips NFTs with superpowers, we're excited to have you onboard to explore the limitless possibilities that await you.
RMRK 2.0 is an advanced Non-Fungible Token (NFT) standard built on the Kusama and Polkadot networks. Think of it as the next-generation model of a car, offering unique features and functionalities that go beyond the capabilities of ordinary vehicles.
RMRK 2.0 operates based on a system called "remarks," which are akin to graffiti on blockchain blocks. Imagine a public wall where people leave their messages - that's what these remarks are in the world of blockchains. These messages do not change the wall itself, but they communicate important information to those who know how to interpret them.
The rules for interpreting these graffiti are called RMRK. Just as an art critic might interpret different graffiti to understand the underlying message, the RMRK rules interpret these blockchain graffiti to simulate certain types of interactions without the need for smart contracts.
In the new version, RMRK 2.0, we introduce the concept of NFT legos. Picture these as individual pieces of a Lego set. Alone, they are simple, but when combined, they can create intricate and complex structures. This concept allows for the development of rich and smart NFT projects without the need for custom logic and smart contracts.
One of the standout features of RMRK 2.0 is the concept of Nestable NFTs. Imagine a dollhouse owned by a doll, that's what Nestable NFTs are like - NFTs that can own other NFTs. Sending an NFT to another NFT is like moving a smaller doll into the dollhouse. Some NFTs can even have special conditions for parent-child relationships, just like how certain rooms in the dollhouse might have specific rules.
RMRK 2.0, with its unique features and enhanced functionalities, is like a next-gen vehicle in the world of NFT standards. Its concept of Nestable NFTs and NFT legos introduces new possibilities for the creation and interaction of NFTs, paving the way for innovative and complex NFT projects.
There are tools available to interact with RMRK NFTs, like the KodaDot, similar to having a user manual and a toolkit for your vehicle. As we delve deeper into these tools and the unique features of RMRK 2.0, we will better understand the vast capabilities of this advanced standard.

Discover the transformation brought about by Dynamic NFTs on KodaDot and how they revolutionize user interaction in the decentralized applications realm.
Dynamic NFTs expand the concept of traditional non-fungible tokens by incorporating features that allow them to evolve over time. Unlike conventional NFTs that encapsulate a static digital asset, dynamic NFTs can modify based on various conditions or interactions.
The demand for more substantial interactivity and engagement within the blockchain space spurred the development of dynamic NFTs. They carry various mutable attributes, such as appearance and properties, influenced by factors like market trends, user preferences, or even real-world scenarios. For instance, a dynamic NFT of a digital piece of art could alter its look based on different times of the day or weather conditions.
KodaDot brings a new dimension to user engagement with truly on-chain, decentralized applications. Leveraging KodaDot’s distinctive features such as delayed messages and gas reservation, dynamic NFTs can self-modify after specific durations. The gas reservation feature creates gas pools that programs can use for further executions. This innovative mechanism enables contracts to awaken themselves, facilitating dynamic behaviors.
Dynamic NFTs on KodaDot present an exciting innovation in the realm of non-fungible tokens, providing more significant interactivity and involvement in decentralized applications. With the smart contract of KodaDot's NFT available on GitHub, developers are encouraged to dive deeper into this shift in the blockchain ecosystem.
