AssetHub Fees

Polkadot and Kusama Asset Hub (former Statemint and Statemine) are system parachains on Polkadot and Kusama for creating and sending fungible and non-fungible (NFTs) tokens.
Native tokens of AssetHub are DOT and KSM. To be able to do any transaction on AssetHub, you need to teleport your assets. If you're interested in teleporting your DOT or KSM to Asset Hub, you can find detailed instructions here:

Kusama Asset Hub Fees (prev. Statemine)

The native token for Statemint is KSM. On Statemine, you pay very low fees (in cents). You also have deposits (locking your KSM). This deposit is needed to be made when you create a new collection. Your (deposited) KSM will be unlocked as soon as you burn NFT/collection).
  • Collection deposit - 0.1 KSM (to create your collection)
  • NFT deposit - 0.001 KSM (adding NFTs)
  • Metadata deposit - 0.00673333326 KSM (3.33333e-7 * 71 + 0.006709666617)
  • Attributes - 0.00666666666 KSM (Royalties - 0,01333333332 KSM per NFT because it has 2 attributes royalty + recipient)

Polkadot Asset Hub Fees (prev. Statemint)

The native token for Statemint is DOT. You also have deposits (locking your DOT). This deposit is needed to be made when you create a new collection. Your (deposited) DOTs will be unlocked as soon as you burn NFT/collection).
  • Collection deposit - 10 DOT (we hope this deposit to be lowered in a near future)
  • NFT deposit - 0.01 DOT
  • Attributes - 0.2 DOT (Royalties - 0.4 DOT per NFT because it has 2 attributes royalty + recipient)
What is the actual use of 10DOT deposit to create a collection, and why is this needed?
Any collection/nft added on the asset hub is saved into the blockchain storage. This storage is replicated, and every change is tracked (by transactions). To prevent spam, parity proposed a returnable deposit. Discussion: Please share your opinion about this collection deposit in this Polkadot Forum post.
