Why should you create an on-chain identity?

Having a decentralized identity as an artist is always beneficial. It’s easy to connect your name with your collections. And it looks better. Users can set an identity by registering through default fields such as name, website, Twitter handle, Riot handle, etc.

How to start

To create an on-chain identity, you will need a deposit of 0.333 KSM. This deposit will be on hold in your wallet. So you will not be able to use it. Clearing: Users can clear (delete) their identity information and have their deposit returned.

Step 1: Choose the correct network

Go to https://kodadot.xyz/, connect your wallet, and choose Kusama in the top right corner.

Step 2: Go to "identity"

Click on your profile (circle). You will see the option “Identity.” You don’t need to fill out everything. You can do this step anytime you want.

Step 3: Fill in all your details

Fill out all the necessary details and sign the transaction. Be aware! For your web link, you cannot use a page that is longer than 32 characters.

Step 4: Create your identity

Click on "Click to create identity", sign your transaction, and wait a moment.

This step is not mandatory; you can mint your art without it. Here you have an example of a profile with the identity:
